Congratulations to Lance, Annie’s Smart Cat (WR This Cats Smart x Shiney Nu Annie x Shining Spark) and Rocking BS Ranch on their NRCHA National Open Hackamore Title.
2020 NRCHA Open Novice Horse Champion – Annies Smart Cat
Annies Smart Cat (WR This Cats Smart x Shiney Nu Annie x Shining Spark) and Lance Johnston won with a 662 composite (H:218/R:220/C:224), owner Rocking BS Ranch collected $2,445 for the title, plus $10,715 for the 2016 stallion’s third-place tie in the Open. He additionally amassed $1,237 for topping the Open and Open Novice cow work.

2019 NRCHA Open Hackamore Year End Regional Champion – HeloMyNamesJohnyCash
HeloMyNamesJohnyCash (Cee Mr Hickory x Smart Card Chex x Ill Be Smart) . It was a banner year for Lance Johnston in 2019. Not only did the Lindsay, California, NRCHA professional win the 2019 Snaffle Bit Futurity Open, he piloted a horse he co-owns with wife Tammy to the Regional Award. Riding 2014 stallion HeloMyNamesJohnyCash (Cee Mr Hickory x Smart Card Chex x Ill Be Smart), Johnston earned $5,842.50.
The pair won the Intermediate Open Hackmore at the NRCHA Hackamore Classic in October, and also topped the Intermediate Open Hackamore horse show class.

2018 NSHA World’s Richest Stock Horse Champion!
Very Smart Choice and Lance Johnston earned the Open Reserve Championship with a composite of 661.5 (220/220/221.5). They took home a paycheck of $3,400 for Rocking BS Ranch, of Las Vegas, Nevada. Like the winner, Very Smart Choice (Very Smart Remedy x Magical Lena x Little Lenas Legend) was bred by Joyce W. Pearson, of Hailey, Idaho.

Lance Johnston takes Mary Stroud’s Silky Smooth Hickory to the $10,000-added Open Derby title. Derby classes were particularly well received — and well-rewarded. In the $10,000-added Open Derby, Lance Johnston took Mary Stroud’s Silky Smooth Hickory to a win that paid $6,210.
